After the airport was opened there were several operations set that were carried on at this venue. The operations at the airport includes a flight training school, military pilots were trained at this airport. The operations were carried on by Airwork Ltd. Earlier, after the airport was opened and before the war some scheduled airline services operated to various domestic locations from here, but soon after the war Airwork switched over to civilian pilot training.

In the year1996, after the Air Service Training stopped its operation in Scone airport, Morris Leslie Ltd bought the site.

Scone Airport still is the main airport of Scotland in terms of general aviation. Scone Airport in Perth is the base of the Scottish Aero Club which was established in the year 1927.
