The Elephants Fountain, Chambery is noticed for the life sized statues of elephants that appear to emerge from within. The fountain and the statues of the elephants are beautiful and amazing to look at. The elephants Fountain often referred to as the Fontaine des Éléphants was built in the year 1838 to honour Benoît de Boigne's feats during the period that he spent in India. This statue represents the forelimbs of four elephants emerging out from inside of a column in the shape of the savoyan cross.
