The Lac du Bourget also popularly known as the "Lake of Le Bourget" is situated in the Savoie département of France. The Lac du Bourget is one of the largest and the deepest lake in the country. This lake derives its name from the city of the same name which is located on its southern shore. The Lac du Bourget, Chambery is fed by the Leysse River and some other small rivers. The lake drains further down towards the river Rhône through the canal de Savières, which is an artificial channel.
